Refund policy

Returns and Exchanges

I hope you will love your new jewellery, if however you are not fully satisfied with your purchase I will be happy to offer an exchange or credit note within 30 days of purchase.

Alternatively I will refund a sale of an unmodified collection piece if it is returned unworn and in its original packaging within 14 days of receipt of the order.

Unless structurally faulty, pieces which are exempt from exchange or refund are as follows:

  • Any collection piece that has been modified specifically for your order. For example a custom chain length or ring size, or if the stone shape or colour has been changed from the original. This also includes any engraved jewellery.
  • Made to order pieces
  • Bespoke pieces

Please notify us of your desire to return a piece via email. Once approved, please then return the piece in its original packaging and include your order number and contact details inside the package. You will then be refunded to your original payment method. Please be aware that it can take some time for your bank or credit card company to process refunds.

UK Returns

When making a return, we recommend using a signed for and tracked service (ie Royal Mail Special Delivery). This is not a pre-paid service and you will be responsible for covering this cost.

If the order you made included free shipping, if the item is returned this cost will be deducted from the refund amount. This only applies to refunds, not exchanges.

International Returns

When making a return from outside of the UK, you as the customer will be responsible for any customs charges incurred when returning the item to the UK. These charges will be deducted from the final refund amount. International customs duties and sales taxes are non-refundable for shipments outside the UK. You as the customer will also be responsible for covering the shipping costs. We recommend returning via a trackable and insured courier service. Genevieve Schwartz Jewellery is not responsible for any return orders in transit.

GSJ reserves the right to decline any orders.

Repairs

All of my work is quality controlled before it is sent out to customers. If however you feel your piece has a structural fault, please return it to me for a full inspection. Please note, if your jewellery has been modified or reworked by another jeweller, the repair warranty will no longer be valid.

If you experience any issues with your purchase, which is although unlikely, can occur due to the nature of handmade jewellery please contact me at info@genevieveschwartz.com. I will assess the problem and offer solutions. I am committed to keeping my customers happy and will do my best to resolve any problems.

Please do not ship any repairs without contacting me first. And please send all repairs fully insured via a signed and tracked courier service.

Please note, certain repairs may be subject to a fee.

The Natural World of Jewellery

As all jewellery is made from natural and not man-made materials, some slight variations can occur in metal and stone colour, as well as in stone size within reason.

Please also be aware that due to the nature of digital screens and their varying calibrations some jewellery can appear differently in real life. If you are not happy with how the piece appears upon receipt, and it was Ready to Ship, I would be happy to exchange it within 30 days according to the policy above. So long as the piece has not been made to order for you, or created bespoke.

Insuring your Jewellery

I strongly recommend insuring your jewellery. Although I am certain you will do your best to make sure your jewellery is kept safe and protected, accidents can still happen. So it is important to put provisions in place to ensure you can always replace your jewellery or cover its value.

Caring for Your Jewellery

I use only the highest quality materials in my jewellery and design and make my jewellery to last. But no natural materials are indestructible (including diamonds) so please take care whilst wearing them.

Accidental knocks against hard surfaces can affect the structural integrity of a piece or risk damaging gemstones, and lotions and perfumes can also have an affect on certain stones. So please do take care whilst wearing your jewelery and remove it before any activity which may cause damage.

I include a care card with every order which outlines detailed instructions on how to care best for your jewellery. If you have lost this and would like another copy, please email me at info@genevieveschwartz.com and I would be happy to send it over to you as a PDF.
